From 5 January 2026, all CCS-eligible families can access at least 72 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight, regardless of their recognised participation level. Some families may be eligible for up to 100 subsidised hours depending on their circumstances.

That is roughly three full days of subsidised care each week for CCS-eligible families.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are entitled to at least 100 subsidised hours per fortnight.

The 3 Day Guarantee is an Australian Government change to the Child Care Subsidy. It refers to subsidised CCS hours. It does not guarantee that a place will be available at a particular early learning service, including ours. Your actual subsidy percentage and what you pay still depend on your family income and your assessment with Services Australia.

What is the 3 Day Guarantee?
From January 2026 the Australian Government's 3 Day Guarantee gives eligible families at least 72 subsidised hours of care per fortnight, which is roughly three days a week, without needing to meet the old activity test. If you already receive Child Care Subsidy, the change is applied automatically and you do not need to submit a new application. If you do not currently receive Child Care Subsidy, check your eligibility and make a claim through Services Australia at servicesaustralia.gov.au. Subsidy is separate from availability, so it does not reserve or guarantee a place at the centre.
How do I apply for the Child Care Subsidy?
If you are not receiving Child Care Subsidy yet, check your eligibility and claim through your myGov account linked to Centrelink, or read the current guidance at servicesaustralia.gov.au. You will need your child's birth certificate details, your income estimate and immunisation records. Once your claim is approved, tell us your CRN and your subsidy is applied to your account so you only pay the gap. Receiving subsidy does not reserve a place, so enquire about availability separately.
