Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

Natural Elements Eagleby bases their programming on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This focuses on your child’s learning based on your child’s interests and abilities.
The early years learning framework describes childhood as a time of belonging, being and becoming.

Belonging

To my family, friends and the community

Being

Learning through play

Becoming

A valued member of society; all that I can be

Through the framework’s five learning goals educators will assist your child to develop:

A strong sense of their identity

Connections with their world

A strong sense of wellbeing

Confidence & involvement in their learning

Effective communication skills

Our childcare programs are designed to nurture each child’s unique interests and developmental stages. Play is the foundation of learning, and we use children’s interests to expand their play into exploration, discovery, creativity, social skill development, and self-discovery.

We recognise the vital role parents play as their child’s first teachers, and we work closely with them to ensure their child’s involvement in activities. Our experienced educator’s program activities engage children in storytelling, drama, poetry, games, and music, providing language and literacy development opportunities.

Both indoor and outdoor play are integral to our program. Our outdoor areas are designed to provide a learning environment that challenges children’s coordination, balance, skills, and strength. They engage in activities such as climbing on play gyms, riding bikes, playing ball games, sand-pit play, water play, playing with dolls and prams, scooters, swings, balancing beams, growing plants, and exploring the natural elements.

Occasionally, we invite people from the community to visit and conduct talks and activities with the children. These include nurses, dentists, animal farms, firefighters, police officers, and people from different cultural backgrounds.

We value and encourage input from families, staff, and the broader community into our programs, policies, procedures, and decision-making, recognising that families, staff, and the community are vital in providing equitable care on our campus. We aim to build a foundation for each child’s education and maintenance, promoting diversity, respect for the environment, sustainability practices, and well-being, including healthy eating and lifestyle habits. Most importantly, our childcare programs are fun and engaging, designed to help each child reach their full potential.

Child Programming

At Natural Elements Eagleby, we follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to create our daily programming. Our educators carefully consider each child’s interests and development to tailor activities and experiences that promote their growth and learning. Each room has a display board that showcases the program books, which parents are encouraged to view and provide input on. We welcome any ideas or feedback from parents, including sharing their child’s interests or activities from the weekend to help inform our programming.
